A Practical Prompt Guide for Image Generation
· 6 min read · llm-kita Team

Good image prompts are less about adjectives and more about structure. The model needs to know the subject, the style, the composition, and the constraints. Prompts that skip structure produce pretty but unusable images, pretty but wrong anatomy, pretty but missing half the request.
Start with the subject in one clause: a black sphere, a robot mascot, a server room. Then add the style as a modifier: 3D render, flat illustration, cinematic photo. Then the composition: centered, 16:9, close-up. Order matters, models weight earlier words more heavily.
State what you do not want. Models cannot reliably parse 'no X' after a long positive description. Put exclusions explicitly and early: no text, no watermark, no people. If text must appear, keep it short and say exactly what it should say; otherwise, ask for none.
Colors and lighting are the difference between generic and on-brand. Naming an exact palette, like pure black background with glowing orange accents, produces dramatically more consistent results than 'dark and colorful'. Same for light: warm rim light, soft studio lighting, volumetric haze.
llm-kita's image generation endpoint accepts the same structured style of prompting and returns production-ready images, alongside video, voice, and presentation generation behind one API key.
